The next P&C meeting will be on Wednesday 17 June, 2009

PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Congratulations to Year 12
As the end of term two approaches and Year 12 reports are sent home it is an appropriate time to congratulate Year 12 on their success in the examinations and assessment tasks this semester. The trial HSC examinations will be held in weeks 3 and 4 next term and we encourage all students to continue a rigorous and consistent study routine to achieve their academic potential.

Year 12 students of 2009 have established an outstanding reputation at school and I am certain this will be advanced with future performance. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students for their effort and achievement; parents for your support and staff for your dedication and encouragement.

SRC supports Red Nose Day

The Forest High School and SRC will again support Red Nose Day in 2009. A number of fund raising events organised by the SRC will be held over the coming weeks. Red Noses will be on sale from Friday 12/6/09 and are available from SRC representatives and at the library.

 School holiday travel ideas

What can you buy for a dollar these days?

Believe it or not you can take your child on a trip to Coffs Harbour,  Brisbane, Melbourne, Canberra and many more places in the school holidays for as little as a dollar. CountryLink lists all sorts of vacation ideas and great travel deals for families on its website. www.countrylink.info/promotions#dollar

If you are in Sydney or travelling to Sydney, make use of the Family Fare deal when seeing Sydney by public transport. When at least one fare paying adult travels with their children or grandchildren, the first child travels for a child fare and the other children travel free.

On Family Funday Sunday, $2.50 per person will get you all day travel on CityRail, Sydney Buses, Sydney Ferries and participating private bus companies. It's available every Sunday, when a minimum of one adult and one child related by family travel together. For more July school holiday ideas go to School Parents ezine. www.schools.nsw.edu.au/ezine
