FAREWELL
Many people will be aware that I will be leaving The Forest at the end of this year and taking some leave into 2009 before I retire from the teaching service after 37 years.
This is an opportunity for me to thank the community for their support and acceptance over my 7 years at this school. From day one I received the most friendly of greetings and was accepted into The Forest family.
There is something about the people at this school that I cannot define but is related to a strong sense of loyalty and connectedness as well as a general respect between them at all levels.
I have not made a big 'song and dance' about my leaving as I know it can be very unsettling for a school to know that their principal is leaving... in addition their will be 7 other staff changes in 2009. We have worked very hard to ensure a very smooth transition and to replace those leaving with professionals of the highest calibre.
New parents should feel confident that The Forest will only get better and better with the additional staff we will have in 2009, as a result of our continued growth. I expect this school to continue on a solid growth path after 2010 as the larger numbers of students in local public schools feed into The Forest.
It has been a pleasure to work with you all and I wish everyone associated with The Forest a safe and enjoyable Xmas period.

HSC HOLIDAY ENRICHMENT COURSES
The Centre for Continuing Education's intensive HSC enrichment program is designed for all Year 12 students who would like to make a head start in the HSC examination and to participate in the program at the University of Sydney in January 2009.
The University of Sydney is offering a range of courses to assist students in their HSC subjects - visit them at www.cce.usyd.edu.au/hsc for more detailed information.
