PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

This week the school has seen a lot of activity happening in regards to painting and
landscaping. The exterior painting of the buidings is now nearing completion with the new
green colour adding a freshness to the school environment. Painting of the classrooms will
also begin shortly, providing a more pleasant learning environment for all.

The school hall has also had its sound and lighting reburbished and eight new gas heaters installed. It will be wonderful to have a warm hall for our students, teachers and commuity.

Landscaping has also begun outside F Block and between the Hall and D Block where new
turf and seating will be installed for our students.

Preparation for the school musical, Grease is progressing wonderfully under the expert
direction of Mrs Ahearn, Mr Goldsmith, Ms Yea and Miss Burgess. These dedicated teachers
have committed many hours of rehearsal time to ensure that this will be one of the best
musicals that The Forest High School has staged. I would like to invite all parents, friends and community to come along and support our very talented students. Performances will be held
on Wednesday 23rd June, Friday 25th June and Saturday 26th June at 7.30pm in the school
hall. Please come to the school to purchase your tickets.

The school's communications team has also been working very hard on developing our
new website. We now have our key messages around the themes of; academic, values, opportunities, community, teachers and teaching and pastoral care/student well being.
The school's banner statement has also been chosen. It is: Excellence, Innovation,
Opportunity, Success. We believe that these messages and statements clearly reflect
what The Forest High School represents.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me in the role as relieving Principal whilst Mrs McDowall has been away on leave. We all look forward to her return next week.
