P&C MEETING

The next P&C Meeting will be held on Wednesday 20th MAY AT 7.30PM

PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Parents may be aware that there are concerns in the community about the inappropriate use of mobile phones amongst school students.  Issues around "sexting", students creating and sharing inappropriate images of themselves and other students, have been prominent in the news.  The Department of Education has published a fact sheet to help parents understand and deal with the issues.

The Department is also publishing an e-newsletter, to which parents may subscribe.  It deals with current issues and provides helpful information and useful links and contacts.

Both of these documents can be accessed on the Department's web site:

Safe Sexting:  No such thing http://www.schools.nsw.edu.au/media/downloads/news/technology/cybersafety/yr2009/sextingfacts.pdf

School Parents
http://www.schools.nsw.edu.au/news/ezine/yr2009/issue02/index.php

I would like to take the opportunity in this newsletter to acknowledge the contribution of our student leaders to community Anzac ceremonies. Our school captains, Rose Griffiths and James Moorhouse attended the ceremony at the Forestville RSL and represented the school and our vice captain Brooke Cresswell gave the address at the dawn ceremony at Peace Park in Oxford Falls. I have received many positive comments from community members about the contribution of these students. We are proud of them and the way in which they represent our community.

A reminder to parents that our next P&C meeting will be May 20th at 7:30. Cathy Moran from Regional Office will be working with parents on Positive Behaviour Engaging Learners and we will be discussing our school's proposed works under Building the Education Revolution (BER) funding.

Rosemary McDowall

Principal

SCHOOL PHOTOS

We have received notification from Advanced Photographers that there has been a delay in  producing our school photographs.  They have introduced new equipment and unfortunately have had some technical difficulties, which are now fixed, but due a backlog of work our photographs are not ready for distribution yet.  They have apologised and will send them as soon as possible.

YEAR 11 CROSSROADS: DRIVER EDUCATION
