The Year 10 School Certificate Examinations concluded on Friday 13th November; however, Year 10 students are required to attend school in full school uniform until the Year 10 Graduation on Thursday 10th December. A full program will be provided for Year 10 students. All Year 10 students will receive Peer Support Training on 16th and 17th November and will then undertake the compulsory Crossroads Program 18th to 20th and 30th November and 1st of December. Work Experience for Year 10 will be from 23rd to 27th November. From the 2nd to 10th December Year 10 students will undertake lessons in each subject that will prepare them for the demands of Year 11 studies. All Year 10 students will need to return all textbooks, pay subject fees and obtain a clearance from each subject. Students who are not returning in Year 11 will need to provide a letter from a parent or caregiver.
Diabetes support
Extra information about student diabetes has been included on the student health section of the Department of Education and Training’s website.
The material has been developed in consultation with Diabetes Australia-NSW and draws together expert advice and information on actions that schools can take to support the health of a student with diabetes working on information that parents provide the school about their child’s health. For more information contact Kate Lovelace, coordinator student health on 9244 5425 or email kate.lovelace@det.nsw.edu.au or visit:

Term dates
Parents are reminded that the last day of the 2009 school year for students will be Wednesday 16 December. School development days will be held on the last two days of term 4, 2009 (Thursday 17 December and Friday 18 December). School development days at the start and end of semesters allow teachers to undergo further professional training.
Thursday 28 January is the first day back in 2010 for all Year 7, new students and Peer Support students, and then Friday 29 January for the rest of the school and Thursday 4 February is when students return in the western division of NSW.

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL
On Wednesday 18th November we will be holding the SRC Induction at 10am under the school COLA during morning assembly. We invite parents of the 2010 SRC to come and join us for the induction and morning tea.
At our recent SRC Leadership camp the 2010 Captains set the course for an exciting year ahead. We have many plans that will begin to be put into action very soon.

Thank you for those who supported the Year 10 SRC members with their BBQ to help raise funds for the Asian Elephant Conservation Breeding Program at Taronga Zoo. The money will help support this on-going program which will help establish a self-sustaining Asian Elephant herd in Australian Zoos. Our lunchtime BBQ raised over $300.00 which has been sent to the zoo.
